5.2 Dark Mode and Appearance

eRegs includes a dark mode that reduces eye strain in low-light environments — especially useful for drivers reading regulations at night or in the cab.

Enabling dark mode

  1. Tap your avatar in the top-right corner and select Account.
  2. Scroll to the Appearance section.
  3. Toggle Dark Mode on.

The entire interface switches immediately to a dark color scheme.

What changes

  • The background becomes dark throughout all pages — reader, dashboard, fleet management, and account settings.
  • Annotation highlight colors are adjusted for readability on dark backgrounds.
  • The eRegs logo switches to its white variant.
  • All text, icons, and interactive elements are themed for contrast and accessibility.

Per-device setting

Dark mode preference is stored in your browser, not on your account. This means:

  • You can use dark mode on your phone and light mode on your desktop (or vice versa).
  • If you clear your browser data or switch browsers, the preference resets to light mode.

Reverting to light mode

Follow the same steps: Avatar → Account → Appearance → toggle Dark Mode off.
